Director of Finance

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Finance is accountable for the administrative, financial, and compliance functions of the company including budgeting, monthly forecasting, expense and margin control, payroll, and financial goal management.


The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with previous experience in manufacturing, media, or a multi-faceted enterprise.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following functions:

  • Direct and oversee the Finance team to manage all financial aspects of the company effectively and precisely

  • Oversee preparation of all financial statements and performance reports for internal and external customers

  • Manage the general ledger and oversee month, quarter, and year-end close process

  • Work harmoniously with various department leaders to ensure the financial stability of the company

  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company in regard to financial standing

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget

  • Responsible for general accounting, risk management, working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels, and taxes

  • Develop, mentor and lead finance department members to advance within the department

  • Provide CEO and if applicable, Board of Directors with advice and guidance on company finances, risk tolerance, financial analysis, and budget requirements in a timely manner

  • Develop financial strategies and metrics aligned with the strategies to ensure sound financial results

  • Ensure that all internal financial controls are in place and monitored to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting

  • Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, third-party, and other financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, CRA, IRS and other taxing entities

  • Prepare pre-audit documents and work with external auditors on annual audit

  • Actively monitor foreign exchange and hedge funds to minimize FX risk

  • Ensure the timeliness of all accounts payable, receivables and financial reports

  • Review financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and variances between actual and budgeted results

  • Ensure financial integrity and profitability of business proposals and business cases

  • Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures, and ensure cash resources are available for daily operations and business product development

  • Prepare various incentive plans and bonus plans for various sectors within the organization

  • Serve on leadership and policy-making committees

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

  • CPA required

  • 5+ years of Public and/or private accounting experience

  • Progressive responsibility and senior management experience in a mid to large size company desired

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing, media or call center companies desired

  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Highly developed interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously while being extremely well-organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport or passport card

  • Ability to work effectively in a full or partial remote environment

  • Travel may be required both in the United States and Canada

  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
